Program Lead - Projects and Policies
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Lead, Operational Oversight and Coordination, the Lead plays a key role in advancing Acute Care Alberta’s priorities by providing leadership in program optimization, strategic planning, and the evaluation of standards for acute care services. This position is distinguished by its responsibility for proactive management of PIOC initiatives, and the development of processes and policies that enhance system performance. The Lead also manages escalations and time sensitive requests to support the Ministry of HSHS, Operational Leaders, and ACA executive.
Description:
The Lead works collaboratively across PHAs and Health Service Delivery organizations to strengthen team functioning, improve alignment, and support the delivery of high quality, patient and family centered care. The role leads complex, high profile initiatives requiring strong relationship building, evidence informed decision making, and expertise in change management. Using data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and quality improvement methodologies, the Lead identifies and drives innovative solutions that optimize patient flow, increase access to hospital and surgical care, and enable progress toward Acute Care Alberta’s mission and strategic vision. Operating with a high degree of independence, the successful candidate will foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, ensuring initiatives achieve their intended outcomes. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader capable of balancing multiple complex priorities, navigating evolving health system needs, and contributing to accessible, integrated, and high quality acute care services across Alberta. This leader synthesizes complex ministry asks, with operational data and processes to respond to requests, develop processes, and action recommendations.

Degree in a Health field, and registration with a current college (CRNA etc.). Experience leading and completing data analysis, synthesis and interpretation. Experience building policy, standards and workflow. Certification and experience with change management (PROCI etc.).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Greater than 5 years of leadership experience in Health Care Operations. Excellent communication skills. Ability to synthesis complex requests that span the health system into discrete, measurable actions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Excel, Microsoft Office, Teams. Ability to travel within the province as needed as part of the role.
