Completion of a recognized nursing program or related baccalaureate degree. Active professional registration where applicable. Minimum five years of acute care experience, with 3–5 years in an operational leadership role. Progressive leadership experience within a complex healthcare environment with demonstrated success in change management and delivery of strategic initiatives. Strong knowledge of surgical services, healthcare operations, and program implementation. Proven ability to think strategically, analyze complex issues, and develop innovative solutions. Demonstrated reliability, sound judgment, and ability to manage competing priorities. Effective communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience leading program development, implementation, and evaluation at an organizational or provincial level within healthcare. Strong understanding of health system governance, policy development, and performance management frameworks. Experience working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders including physicians, operational leaders, government partners, and external organizations. Proven ability to influence decision-making and provide strategic advice to senior leadership. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to inform planning, monitor performance, and drive quality improvement initiatives. Ability to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage emerging operational issues. Strong leadership capabilities including team oversight, coaching, and fostering a high-performing work environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment with a high degree of professionalism and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical experience in surgical services and/or operating room environments. Experience with provincial program implementation, policy development, or oversight frameworks. Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and resolve complex issues in a dynamic healthcare setting.
