Acute Care Alberta (ACA) is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Consultant to join the Real Time Acute Care Performance & Reporting team. This is a high impact provincial role supporting the optimization of real-time performance reporting in support of hospital operations, and acute care flow across Alberta. As a Senior Consultant, you will lead complex, high-profile initiatives that directly support operational performance, provincial oversight, and enhanced decision-making. You will collaborate closely with operational leaders, clinical leaders, and multidisciplinary partners to advance real-time visibility, reporting standards, operational design, and system flow improvements across Acute Care Alberta. This role requires a strong strategic mindset, advanced analytical capabilities, and expertise in change management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. You will work with minimal guidance, providing expert consultation and driving initiatives that support Acute Care Alberta’s mission and strategic vision.

Description:

The Senior Consultant provides leadership in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of real-time acute care reporting, performance standards and flow optimization. This includes: Supporting the development, implementation, and enhancement of reporting processes, real-time dashboards, and acute care performance measures. Supporting the provincial Integrated Operations Centre and contributing to situational awareness. Facilitating operational design discussions and aligning real-time reporting systems with Acute Care Alberta’s strategic goals. Supporting quality improvement, data driven decision making, and the adoption of best practices across acute care settings. Developing knowledge translation tools to support education, training, and consistent provincial reporting practices. This position plays a critical role in strengthening Acute Care Alberta’s ability to monitor real-time conditions, respond effectively, and improve patient access and flow across Alberta’s acute care facilities.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare or related environment Strong skills in project planning, implementation, and coordination. Expertise in stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, and collaborative leadership. Proven ability to lead and manage change initiatives. Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation). Ability to work independently within a complex, multi‑stakeholder organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications:

Project Management certification (e.g., PMP). Certification in quality improvement (AIW Green Belt, Lean Six Sigma, IHI, etc.). Certification in change management (e.g., PROSCI). Knowledge of Connect Care/Epic; Epic certification considered an asset. 3–5 additional years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, service design, strategy, policy development, or human services.
